  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Delightful mini skewers of cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil drizzled with balsamic glaze, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 12 small fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine), about 15–20 g each
  • 12 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic reduction or glaze
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (optional)
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 12 small toothpicks or cocktail skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Rinse and dry cherry tomatoes. Drain bocconcini and pat dry on paper towels to remove excess moisture. Gently wash basil and pat dry.
  2. Assemble skewers: On each toothpick, thread one cherry tomato, add a basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball. Alternate for a layered look if desired.
  3. Season: Lay skewers on a serving platter. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and then balsamic reduction over the top.
  4. Finish: Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper before serving. Serve immediately for best texture and appearance.

Notes

Use the freshest ingredients, patting mozzarella dry is crucial to prevent sogginess. Assemble no more than 1 hour ahead for freshness.
