Description
A healthier twist on the classic Fish & Chips, made in an air fryer for a crispy and light meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pieces of white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
- 2 large potatoes, sliced into fries
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Cooking spray or olive oil for spraying
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the potatoes: Cut the potatoes into fry shapes and soak them in water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season the flour: In a bowl, mix the flour with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Coat the fish: Dip each fish fillet into the seasoned flour, ensuring an even coating, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumbs for a crispy exterior.
- Prepare for air frying: Lightly coat the fries and fish fillets with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
- Cook the fries: Place the fries in the air fryer basket and cook for about 15 minutes or until they are crispy, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Cook the fish: Remove the fries and place the fish fillets in the air fryer basket, cooking for another 10 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure the fries and fish are well-coated and do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
