Description
Crispy, cheesy pizza rolls filled with gooey mozzarella, tangy sauce, and pepperoni, perfect for parties and snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (about 450 g) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 oz (225 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 oz (170 g) pepperoni slices (or substitute cooked Italian sausage, diced)
- 1/2 cup (120 g) pizza sauce, plus extra for dipping
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Optional: Fresh basil leaves (chopped) or 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Optional: 2–3 tbsp ricotta for creamier filling
- Optional: Diced roasted vegetables for a vegetarian version
- Optional: Gluten-free pizza dough and dairy-free cheese for allergy-friendly versions
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Lightly flour a work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a roughly 12×10-inch rectangle. Cut into small squares, about 2½ inches.
- Place a small amount (about 1 tsp) of pizza sauce in the center of each square. Top with a pinch of mozzarella (about 1 tbsp) and 1–2 pepperoni slices.
- Fold each square over to form a small roll or pocket and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
- Brush the tops of the rolls lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Place the rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching. Cook for about 8–10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, rotating or flipping halfway through.
- Serve hot with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
Sodium can be high due to cured meats and store-bought products; adjust with low-sodium ingredients if necessary. Experiment with fillings for alternate flavors.
