Description
Delicious Mexican rice simmered in a flavorful broth, perfect for family dinners or festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Knorr Chicken Bouillon Powder
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and sauté for 3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the rinsed rice to the skillet, stirring to coat in the garlic and butter. Cook the rice, stirring frequently, until lightly golden, about 10 minutes.
- Whisk together the water, tomato paste, and chicken bouillon powder in a bowl until well combined.
- Once the rice is toasted, pour the broth mixture into the skillet. Bring it to a boil and stir well, ensuring the rice is evenly distributed.
- Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 25-30 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- Once done, fluff the rice with a fork and serve it warm, garnishing with fresh cilantro if desired.
Notes
For added flavor, consider substituting water with chicken or vegetable broth.
