- 2 cups diced apples
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until apples are well-coated.
- In another bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, melted butter, and salt together until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Press half of the crumbly mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish (approximately 8×8 inches).
- Layer the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble on top of the apples.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving so that the bites hold together nicely.
Notes
For added crunch, consider incorporating chopped nuts. For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour with almond or coconut flour.
