- 3 large apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Core and slice the apples into fry-like strips (about 1/4 inch thick).
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, beat the egg until well combined.
- Dip each apple slice into the egg, letting excess drip off, then coat with the flour mixture and dredge in breadcrumbs.
- Carefully fry the coated apple fries in batches for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
