A sweet twist on a classic snack, these crunchy apple fries combine the tang of fresh apples with a golden coating, perfect for any cozy gathering.


Ingredients

  • 3 large apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Core and slice the apples into fry-like strips (about 1/4 inch thick).
  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and cinnamon.
  4. In another bowl, beat the egg until well combined.
  5. Dip each apple slice into the egg, letting excess drip off, then coat with the flour mixture and dredge in breadcrumbs.
  6. Carefully fry the coated apple fries in batches for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

Notes
