Description
A delightful twist on the classic apple pie, featuring a flaky crust and tender, spiced apples.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 4–5 medium apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji works beautifully)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a tart pan, ensuring even coverage and pressing into the edges.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice, tossing until the apples are well coated.
- Arrange the apple mixture evenly in the tart shell and dot with small pieces of butter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, brush the top with the beaten egg for a shiny finish.
Notes
