Apple Pie Tart

Description

A delightful twist on the classic apple pie, featuring a flaky crust and tender, spiced apples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 45 medium apples, peeled and sliced (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji works beautifully)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a tart pan, ensuring even coverage and pressing into the edges.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice, tossing until the apples are well coated.
  4. Arrange the apple mixture evenly in the tart shell and dot with small pieces of butter.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, brush the top with the beaten egg for a shiny finish.

Notes

Best served warm, with or without vanilla ice cream. Can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days.
