Hibiscus Tea Strawberry-Lemonade Refresher


Description

A refreshing drink combining tart hibiscus tea, sweet strawberries, and zesty lemon—a perfect summer refresher.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 hibiscus tea bags or 2 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, washed and hulled (about 75 g)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed (about 60 mL)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice, for serving
  • Optional garnishes: extra sliced strawberries, lemon slices, fresh mint leaves, sparkling water, pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 cups water to a boil. Remove from heat, add hibiscus tea bags or dried hibiscus flowers, and steep for 5–7 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags or strain flowers and allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then chill.
  3. In a blender, puree 1/2 cup sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of the cooled hibiscus tea until smooth.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the remaining cooled hibiscus tea, strawberry puree, 1/4 cup lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons maple syrup. Stir thoroughly to combine.
  5. Adjust sweetness and acidity by adding more maple syrup or lemon juice as desired. If too concentrated, dilute with cold water or sparkling water.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with sliced strawberries, lemon wheels, and mint. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

This drink can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Adjust sweetness according to taste.
