Description

Warm, spice-crusted nuts with smoky cumin, sweet brown sugar, and a hint of cayenne, perfect for snacking or entertaining.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups unsalted mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, peanuts)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and position the rack in the center.
  2. Spread the mixed nuts in a single layer on a large rimmed baking sheet.
  3. Roast the nuts for 8–10 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  4. While roasting, melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  5. Whisk in the cumin, chili powder, cayenne, cinnamon, and brown sugar until smooth.
  6. Remove the nuts from the oven and transfer to a mixing bowl.
  7. Pour the seasoned butter mixture over the nuts and gently toss to coat.
  8. Allow the nuts to cool slightly before serving.
