Ingredients
Scale
- 250g penne pasta
- 300g ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, about 7-10 minutes.
- Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Combine the cooked penne pasta with the sauce in the skillet, mixing well to ensure that each piece of pasta is coated evenly.
- Serve hot, topped generously with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or plant-based ground meat. Serve with garlic bread or a fresh garden salad.
