Bruschetta Dip

Description

A vibrant, spoonable twist on classic Italian bruschetta that combines herbed cheese with juicy tomatoes and fresh basil for a quick and elegant appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (6.5 oz / ~184 g) Alouette Cheese with herbs (or other soft cheese spread like Boursin)
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped (about 1 medium tomato)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinaigrette glaze or balsamic reduction
  • Pita chips, crackers, or thinly sliced baguette, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring the herbed cheese to room temperature (about 15–20 minutes before assembling) so it’s easily spreadable and tastes brighter.
  2. Spread the soft cheese evenly over the center of a large plate or small platter, leaving about a 1/4 inch border around the edge.
  3. Evenly scatter and gently press the chopped tomatoes onto the surface of the cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped basil over the tomatoes.
  5. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the whole plate.
  6. Serve immediately with an assortment of pita chips, crackers, or thin slices of toasted baguette.

Notes

For a lower-sodium version, choose a low-sodium cream cheese-style spread and reduce or omit the balsamic glaze. To make it vegan, use a plant-based herbed spread and a maple-balsamic glaze.
