Butter Swim Biscuits

Description

Delicious and easy-to-make butter swim biscuits that offer a soft, flaky texture and rich flavor, ideal for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing for tender biscuits.
  4. Pour half of the melted butter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, ensuring the bottom is well-coated.
  5. Spoon dollops of the biscuit dough into the dish, spacing them slightly apart. Drizzle the remaining melted butter over the tops of the dough.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the center.
  7. Let the biscuits cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or cheese to the dough. Can be served plain or with spreads.
