Delightful and easy-to-make butter swim biscuits that are fluffy and tender, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing the baking dish
- 3 tablespoons honey (optional for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well-combined.
- In a separate bowl or a microwave-safe container, melt the butter. Stir in the milk until mixed.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, using a spatula to fold gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure tender biscuits.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, making sure it spreads evenly.
- Pour the remaining melted butter over the top of the batter, allowing it to seep in.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
- If desired, drizzle with honey before serving for an extra sweetness.
