Butter Swim Biscuits: A Cozy Delight

Description

Delightful and easy-to-make butter swim biscuits that are fluffy and tender, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing the baking dish
  • 3 tablespoons honey (optional for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well-combined.
  3. In a separate bowl or a microwave-safe container, melt the butter. Stir in the milk until mixed.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, using a spatula to fold gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure tender biscuits.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, making sure it spreads evenly.
  6. Pour the remaining melted butter over the top of the batter, allowing it to seep in.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
  8. If desired, drizzle with honey before serving for an extra sweetness.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or keep in the fridge for up to 1 week. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
