Description
A cozy comfort food delight combining rigatoni pasta, ground beef, and a rich marinara sauce, topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups rigatoni pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the beef; stir to combine.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rigatoni, beef mixture, and ricotta cheese.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
To keep the rigatoni intact, avoid overmixing the pasta and beef mixtures. For a gooey cheese layer, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully.
