Description

  • 2 cups rigatoni pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the beef; stir to combine.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked rigatoni, beef mixture, and ricotta cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

To keep the rigatoni intact, avoid overmixing the pasta and beef mixtures. For a gooey cheese layer, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully.
