Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps


Description

These wraps feature tender pieces of chicken in a creamy Parmesan sauce, wrapped in warm tortillas with fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs (about 680 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) chicken broth (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup (about 25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 6 large tortillas (flour or whole wheat) — or 8 medium
  • 2 cups (about 225 g) shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into small, bite-sized pieces and pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant—be careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium-low, then stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), and Italian herbs.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly, stirring occasionally.
  9. Warm the tortillas according to package directions.
  10. Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface.
  11. Spoon a generous amount of the cheesy garlic chicken onto the center of the tortilla.
  12. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  13. Add any optional toppings you like (tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole).
  14. Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly.
  15. Cut the wraps in half, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream and reduce the shredded cheese by 1/3.
