Chinese Chicken and Cabbage Stir Fry

Description

A delicious blend of tender chicken and crunchy cabbage stir-fried with garlic, ginger, and rich sauces for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups Napa cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • Optional: bell peppers or snap peas

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced chicken breast and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add a bit of oil if needed, then add the garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the shredded Napa cabbage, green cabbage, and carrot to the pan. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For the juiciest chicken, use fresh breast pieces rather than frozen. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure everything cooks evenly.
