Instructions

  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until the batter is smooth. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until you can insert a toothpick and it comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake; the brownies continue to set while they cool.
  6. Let the brownies cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
