Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt

- Cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, ketchup, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread a thin layer of ketchup on top if desired, for a glossy finish.
- Bake for 1 hour or until the meatloaf is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
To ensure even cooking, use ground beef with a fat content of around 80/20. Avoid overmixing the ingredients to prevent a dry meatloaf.
