Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pastry case (shortcrust or puff)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 300 ml double cream
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 100 g grated cheese (cheddar or similar)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200 g cooked chicken, shredded
  • 100 g spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Bake the pastry case according to package instructions until golden.
  3. Sauté the onion and garlic in a frying pan until soft and fragrant.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, double cream, and cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Stir in grated cheese, cooked chicken, sautéed onion and garlic, spinach, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the baked pastry case, distributing evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden on top.
  8. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs and enjoy either warm or cold!

Notes

Ensure your pastry is fully baked before adding the filling to avoid a soggy bottom.
