- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean recommended)
- 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
- 2 cups shredded cheese (about 8 oz; cheddar or your favorite melting cheese)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked and drain any excess fat.
- Reduce heat slightly and stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook just until warmed through.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the greased baking dish.
- Scatter the drained corn evenly over the beef layer.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top of the corn.
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
- Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter option, use ground turkey or chicken. Adjust flavors by swapping the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken or making a homemade white sauce.
