Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean recommended)
  • 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (about 8 oz; cheddar or your favorite melting cheese)
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked and drain any excess fat.
  3. Reduce heat slightly and stir in the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook just until warmed through.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the greased baking dish.
  5. Scatter the drained corn evenly over the beef layer.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly on top of the corn.
  7. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter option, use ground turkey or chicken. Adjust flavors by swapping the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken or making a homemade white sauce.
