- 2 slices whole-grain bread (or bread of choice)
- 1 ripe avocado (about 150 g flesh)
- 2 slices cheddar cheese (about 2 oz / 56 g total) or cheese of choice
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for grilling)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Mash the ripe avocado in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the mashed avocado and cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
- Grill in the skillet until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use dense, sturdy bread to prevent sogginess. Press gently while grilling for even browning.
