- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the chicken thighs to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.
- Pour in the tomato puree, heavy cream, garam masala, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
Notes
For best results, use bone-in chicken thighs for more flavor, or marinate the chicken in yogurt and spices beforehand for added tenderness.
