Description
Effortless crockpot teriyaki chicken that is tender, flavorful, and perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5–2 pounds total)
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated (or 1 tsp ground ginger)
- Salt and pepper, to taste (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
- Green onions, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts flat in the crockpot in a single layer if possible.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of black pepper (skip added salt unless needed).
- Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, making sure each piece gets coated.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4–6 hours, or on HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through (165°F / 74°C) and very tender.
- Once done, shred the chicken directly in the crockpot using two forks and stir to combine.
- Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
For a healthier version, choose low-sodium teriyaki sauce to reduce overall sodium content.
