Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup pitted cherries, chopped (fresh or canned)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped cherries.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
