 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 - 2 large eggs
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
 - 1 cup pitted cherries, chopped (fresh or canned)
 - Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
 
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
 - In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
 - Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
 - In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
 - Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
 - Gently fold in the chopped cherries.
 - Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
 - Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
 - Allow to cool before cutting into squares. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
