Description
Delightful chicken patties with a crispy exterior and succulent interior, inspired by flavors of Pakistani street food.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g ground chicken
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup flour
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala, salt, and fresh coriander. Mix until well-combined.
- Shape the mixture into small, oval patties.
- Prepare a dredging station: Dip each patty first in flour, ensuring an even coating, then in beaten eggs, and finally coat them with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. To test if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of bread; it should sizzle and brown in about 30 seconds.
- Fry the patties in batches until golden brown on both sides, approximately 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the patties and drain on paper towels to rid them of excess oil. Serve hot!
Notes
For an extra kick, add more green chilies or a pinch of cayenne pepper. Ensure oil temperature is right before frying to avoid greasy patties.
