Description
Indulge in warm, fluffy brioche donuts filled with rich chocolate filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter. Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until it has doubled in size.
- Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into rounds. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- In a deep pan, heat oil over medium heat. Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- For the filling, heat the heavy cream until just boiling and pour it over the chopped chocolate. Stir until melted and smooth. Chill in the refrigerator until thickened.
- Once cooled, fill each donut with the chocolate ganache using a piping bag.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Ensure not to overmix the dough; check oil temperature for ideal frying conditions.
