French Hot Chocolate


Description

A thick, rich, and smooth hot chocolate made with high-quality dark chocolate, whole milk, and cream, perfect for cozy cold days.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz high-quality dark chocolate (60% cocoa)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm whole milk and heavy cream until just below boiling.
  2. Add chopped dark chocolate to the mixture, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in sugar and vanilla extract until dissolved; taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  4. Whisk or use an electric frother to create a light froth.
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows, if desired.

Notes

For a sweeter drink, add more sugar. Use good quality dark chocolate for best flavor. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
