Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the heavy cream, sour cream, and sugar. Beat until soft peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt until smooth.
- If using gelatin, sprinkle it over the cold water in a small bowl and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom. Then, gently heat until dissolved and mix with the lemon mixture.
- Carefully fold the lemon mixture into the whipped cream mixture until fully combined. Be gentle to maintain the airy texture.
- Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
- Serve chilled, garnished with additional lemon zest or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
