Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cold water (if using gelatin)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the heavy cream, sour cream, and sugar. Beat until soft peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt until smooth.
  3. If using gelatin, sprinkle it over the cold water in a small bowl and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom. Then, gently heat until dissolved and mix with the lemon mixture.
  4. Carefully fold the lemon mixture into the whipped cream mixture until fully combined. Be gentle to maintain the airy texture.
  5. Spoon the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  6. Serve chilled, garnished with additional lemon zest or a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
