  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1 tablespoon pieces
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it shimmers and coats the pan.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion, sautéing until soft and golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, allowing its aroma to infuse the butter for about 30 seconds.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and season with salt and pepper, then bring to a rolling boil.
  5. Gently add the rinsed rice, stirring quickly to distribute the grains evenly. Cover the pan with a snug lid.
  6. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and let the rice simmer and absorb the broth for 15-18 minutes.
  7. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the rice rest, undisturbed, for 5-10 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork, adding the remaining butter for a glossy finish.
  9. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, choose high-quality unsalted butter and adjust salt based on the broth’s saltiness. Avoid overmixing to prevent gummy rice.
