  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1 cup walnuts or pecans, sea salt for sprinkling, gluten-free blend for flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Use quality chocolate for the best flavor.
