Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, ground poppy seeds, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
