- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by cutting into bite-sized pieces and seasoning with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Stir until well mixed.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the chicken pieces in a single layer and sauté until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water to create a slurry.
- Pour the honey garlic mixture over the cooked chicken and lower heat to medium.
- Add the cornstarch slurry, stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Optional: garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
- Remove from heat and enjoy while hot!
Notes
For gluten-free, use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce. For lower sodium, use low-sodium soy sauce and taste before adding salt.
