  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips (for topping, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, alternating between the two.
  5. Fold in the hot fudge sauce and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle with additional hot fudge sauce and top with chocolate chips and nuts if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder and chocolate chips. Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
