Hot Honey Chicken Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded chicken (cooked)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup hot honey
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth and thickened. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until melted.
  5. Mix the cooked macaroni and shredded chicken into the cheese sauce. Stir in the hot honey, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Pour the mixture into a baking dish, top with additional cheese if desired, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Avoid overmixing after adding the chicken to maintain texture.
