Ingredients

- 24 ladyfingers (about 4 per cup)
- 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) strong brewed espresso, cooled
- 8 oz (227 g) mascarpone cheese, chilled
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, chilled
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- 2–3 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional, add to espresso)
- Chocolate shavings or grated dark chocolate for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brew espresso and let it cool.
- Dip ladyfingers in the cooled espresso quickly to soak.
- In a bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In another bowl, mix mascarpone, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
- Layer soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of serving cups.
- Add a layer of mascarpone cream, then add more ladyfingers, and top with mascarpone again.
- Refrigerate for a few hours to set (at least 2 hours, ideally overnight).
- Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
Notes
This dessert contains significant saturated fat and sugar—enjoy in moderation. Use high-quality mascarpone and freshly brewed espresso for best flavor.
