Juicy Blueberry Grilled Cheese


Description

A whimsical twist on a classic grilled cheese featuring warm cheddar and bursts of sweet-tart blueberries.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread (sourdough, country white, or whole wheat)
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese (about 2 oz / 56 g)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or thawed frozen)
  • 1 tbsp butter (for spreading)
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer cheddar cheese on top of the bread in the skillet, followed by the blueberries.
  5. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the blueberries if desired.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
  7. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

If using thick-cut bread, you may need an extra minute per side. Pat frozen blueberries dry before adding to avoid sogginess.
