Description
A whimsical twist on a classic grilled cheese featuring warm cheddar and bursts of sweet-tart blueberries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices bread (sourdough, country white, or whole wheat)
- 2 slices cheddar cheese (about 2 oz / 56 g)
- 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or thawed frozen)
- 1 tbsp butter (for spreading)
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
- Layer cheddar cheese on top of the bread in the skillet, followed by the blueberries.
- Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the blueberries if desired.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
If using thick-cut bread, you may need an extra minute per side. Pat frozen blueberries dry before adding to avoid sogginess.
