- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, milk, and melted butter. Stir until fully mixed.
- Gradually add in the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until just blended (be careful not to over-mix).
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the lemon juice and lemon zest.
- Pour the lemon mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Do not stir; this will create the cobbler’s magical layers!
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
