Description

A simple, flavor-packed appetizer featuring sharp cheddar and cream cheese marinated in a herby vinaigrette.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz (226 g) sharp cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2–3/4-inch cubes
  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, cut into 1/2–3/4-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) herby vinaigrette
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley and/or chives, finely chopped (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Toothpicks or small skewers, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the cheddar and cream cheese into bite-sized cubes and place them in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the herby vinaigrette, olive oil, and minced garlic if using.
  3. Add the cheese cubes to the bowl and gently stir to coat them in the vinaigrette.
  4. If using, chop the fresh herbs and sprinkle them over the cheese mixture.
  5. Add black pepper and red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Serve on a platter with toothpicks for easy eating.

Notes

For optimal flavor, let the dish rest overnight. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
