Description
These homemade meatballs are a cozy family favorite, featuring a crispy exterior and a tender, juicy center. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g ground beef or pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 100g breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- Oil for frying
- Optional: Ground almonds, oats, or almond flour for substitutions
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix until everything is well combined, but be careful not to overmix—it should still retain a bit of texture.
- Shape the mixture into small patties or balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until shimmering.
- Fry the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. To check doneness, cut one open; the meat should no longer be pink inside.
- Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as pasta, bread, or a fresh salad.
Notes
Use fresh herbs to enhance flavor and experiment with spices for a unique twist. Don’t overmix to keep the meatballs tender.
