Easy Homemade Meatballs

Description

These homemade meatballs are a cozy family favorite, featuring a crispy exterior and a tender, juicy center. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef or pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Optional: Ground almonds, oats, or almond flour for substitutions

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Mix until everything is well combined, but be careful not to overmix—it should still retain a bit of texture.
  3. Shape the mixture into small patties or balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Fry the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. To check doneness, cut one open; the meat should no longer be pink inside.
  6. Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as pasta, bread, or a fresh salad.

Notes

Use fresh herbs to enhance flavor and experiment with spices for a unique twist. Don’t overmix to keep the meatballs tender.
