- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a bundt pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined (don’t overmix!).
- Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or for a week in the refrigerator. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
