- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the oysters (with their liquor), Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for about 2 minutes until the edges of the oysters begin to curl.
- Pour in the cream and milk, stirring gently to combine; heat through without allowing it to boil.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
Be sure not to overcook the oysters; they can become tough if cooked too long. Serve with crusty bread or crackers.
