Description
Delicious pan-fried buns filled with your choice of savory ingredients, perfect for cozy dinners or snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Filling: Pork, Chicken, or Vegetables (mushrooms, spinach, etc.)
- Optional: garlic powder, ginger, sesame oil
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Stir together until well mixed.
- Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Once rested, divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and flatten each into a round disc.
- Place a small amount of your chosen filling in the center of each disc, then fold over and pinch to seal tightly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the buns in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- For a soft interior, add a splash of water to the pan after flipping the buns, cover, and let steam for a few minutes.
- Serve warm, perhaps with soy sauce or chili oil for a delightful dipping experience.
