Pepperoni Pizza Mozzarella Sticks


Description

Delicious mozzarella sticks filled with pepperoni, coated in seasoned breadcrumbs, and fried to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 8 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick in half and press a pepperoni slice onto each piece.
  2. In three separate bowls, set out the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning.
  3. Dredge each cheese stick in flour, dip it in the eggs, and then coat it evenly with the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat until it’s shimmering but not smoking.
  5. Fry the breaded cheese sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain the fried sticks on paper towels and serve hot with pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder or Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb mixture.
