Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, and salt, mixing well.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until rice is tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, and raisins if using.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm or chilled.

Notes

Stir gently to avoid breaking the rice grains. Serve with toppings like butter or cinnamon for an extra treat.
