Saffron Overnight Oats

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or your preferred non-dairy milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Toppings (optional): Nuts, fresh fruits, or yogurt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats and milk. Stir until well mixed.
  2. In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in one tablespoon of warm water for about 5 minutes until they release their beautiful color and aroma. Stir this into the oat mixture.
  3. Add honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to your mixture. Mix until well combined.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours).
  5. When ready to serve, give the oats a good stir, and top them off with your favorite toppings. Enjoy cold!

Notes

For best flavor and freshness, enjoy the oats within a couple of days. Adjust milk for desired consistency before serving.
