Salted Maple Pecan Pie Bars

Description

Delightful bars combining rich maple syrup and crunchy pecans, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish lightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, softened butter, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until crumbly, then press it into the bottom of your prepared baking dish to form a crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans and pour the filling evenly over the baked crust.
  6. Sprinkle sea salt over the top liberally.
  7. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, until the filling is set and no longer wobbly.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can store at room temperature for 3 days or in the fridge for a week.
