Slow-Cooker Pineapple Upside-Down Dump Cake

Description

A delightful twist on a classic favorite that marries simplicity with scrumptious flavors, perfect for family gatherings or potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices, drained
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In your slow cooker, layer the drained pineapple slices evenly at the bottom.
  2. Sprinkle the brown sugar generously over the layer of pineapple.
  3. Pour the yellow cake mix evenly on top of the pineapple and brown sugar. No need to mix!
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the dry cake mix—make sure it covers as much as possible.
  5. If desired, scatter the maraschino cherries and chopped nuts on top of the mixture for added flavor and texture.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the cake is set and a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Serve warm and relish in the comforting sweetness!

Notes

To enhance the cake, serve it warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
