- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
- Optional: dill pickles or sliced burger pickles
- Optional: 1/2 cup diced onions (raw or lightly sauteed)
- Optional: burger sauce, ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce for serving
Instructions
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly oil if needed.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and press each portion thinly onto one half of each tortilla.
- Season the beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Place the tortillas beef-side down in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned.
- Flip the tortillas and immediately sprinkle with cheese.
- Fold the tortillas in half over the beef and cheese, pressing down gently with a spatula.
- Grill each side for 1–2 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Remove from heat, let rest for 1 minute, slice into wedges, and serve with toppings.
Notes
For best results, avoid overmixing the beef and check doneness visually. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
