Smashburger Quesadillas


Description

A delightful twist on classic burgers, these quesadillas feature crispy tortillas, caramelized beef, and gooey melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • Optional: dill pickles or sliced burger pickles
  • Optional: 1/2 cup diced onions (raw or lightly sauteed)
  • Optional: burger sauce, ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly oil if needed.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and press each portion thinly onto one half of each tortilla.
  3. Season the beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place the tortillas beef-side down in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned.
  5. Flip the tortillas and immediately sprinkle with cheese.
  6. Fold the tortillas in half over the beef and cheese, pressing down gently with a spatula.
  7. Grill each side for 1–2 minutes until golden and crisp.
  8. Remove from heat, let rest for 1 minute, slice into wedges, and serve with toppings.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the beef and check doneness visually. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days.
