Description
A flavorful twist on a classic favorite, this Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake combines sushi rice, flaked salmon, and a zesty kick from sriracha and mayonnaise, all baked to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lb salmon fillet, cooked and flaked
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 sheet nori, cut into strips
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, ensuring the rice is evenly seasoned.
- Prepare the salmon mixture by combining the flaked salmon, mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, and green onions in a bowl. Mix gently to combine.
- Spread the seasoned sushi rice evenly into a greased baking dish, pressing down lightly to create an even layer.
- Layer the salmon mixture on top of the rice, spreading it evenly over the entire surface.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until heated through and the top is slightly golden.
- Garnish with nori strips and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a crispy top, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes but keep an eye on it to prevent burning. Avoid overmixing the salmon mixture for a creamy but textured blend.
