Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Shells


Description

Cozy and comforting spinach and ricotta stuffed shells, perfect for family dinners and gatherings. Creamy filling with a tangy marinara topped with bubbly cheese.


Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, spinach, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta and spinach mixture and place them in the baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free jumbo shells. Mix in cooked sausage for a meat lover’s version.
